Oak Tree (digital painting)
Sorry no comic for this week; I didn’t have time between other things. In it’s place I’ve uploaded a low resolution digital “sketch/painting” I completed for a children’s book submission I’m sending off to publishers.
I hope it doesn’t take forever to download every time :-/

* Wacom Tablet Intuos 4
* Digital pen
No comic!!! Sob, sob…
Awesome artwork on this one Doug.
Thanks, Tony! Between last week’s accident and other stuff I couldn’t get a comic done. I’m hoping to get this book out (finally) in the next few weeks.
Hope your girlfriend is recovering from her ordeal & any injuries.
That is really neat! Great ink work on it, even it there’s no ink on it!
Thanks! … It’s funny what you said, but true 🙂 What DO you say to digital art?… “Nice pixel work,” “I like your vector based imagery,” “How you do layer rasterize your RGB mimicry?” LoL!!!
Oh how things are changing.
wow… it’s amazing what you can do with digital tools… that is beautiful. It looks traditionally done – true artistry – looks like it was time-consuming – you must be very patient. 🙂 … that’s what it takes to be a truly great artist.
Thanks, Nancy! … I think the effort with digital tools must be to develop your own style, and not let the digital signature imprint your work. It takes patience, yes (**said with tense smile 🙂
Man, that is beautiful! You really did a great job on this. Good luck with the submission.
THank you, George! … I won’t hear back from publishers for awhile, but I’ll post when I do.
Still rawkin’ the backwards hat in the future. That’s rad!
Haha!!! .. Yes the backwards hat still Rawks! … Can’t wait for your new site to be up and running!
Very nice! Love the detail. 🙂
Thanks!
